Reach

2025

A map is a good way to show a distribution and a poor way to compare numbers. Reach pairs a dimmed world map with a ranked list, so the map gives the overview and the list gives the detail. The countries that matter most are highlighted on the map and carry the longest bars below.

Each row shows a flag, the country name, the share, and a thin progress bar. The bars are scaled to the total rather than to the largest value, which keeps small markets from looking like noise. Long tails collapse into an "Other" row so the list stays short.

The widget was built to sit inside a larger dashboard, so it avoids its own headings and controls. Its job is to answer one question quickly, and then get out of the way.
